People tell you to stop trying to be the person you think you should be. But why?
Well: it keeps you from living your best life in all aspects of life.
But it’s especially important in relationships... Here are three reasons why.

1.
First of all, when you’re not yourself, you’ll never know whether you actually are compatible.
It saves a lot of heartbreak to find that out sooner rather than later.
2.
Second of all, when you’re so focused on being a certain way, you easily lose track of what brings you joy in life.
Including the joy in the relationship you’re so desperately trying to preserve...
3.
Finally, realise that when you’re performing, all you are doing is avoiding the pain of rejection.
The thing is: you’ll need to do that forever, while just allowing that pain will only be temporary (if it comes at all!)
So: stop trying to be the person you think you should be, accept (possible) rejection, and embrace the joy of being true to you.
I promise you, you’ll be okay.
